rains .. terror. .. etc
Rains are playing hide and seek, and thats why no consistent rainfall. So its not much fun to stand under umbrella and eat coal heated corn cobs, sprinkled with salt and masala.
-------------
Month of july is full of blockbuster movies, and I will have to save a lot of cash to be able to watch all of them. But I am going to make sure that I don't miss; Terminator 4, Transformers 2, and Harry Potter 6, simply for the reason that these movies are more fun to watch on big screen than on television. So lets see if I am able to watch all the three movies.
-------------
My dislike for these terrorists continues to grow, these so called rebels in the grab of maoist fighting for peasant rights just kill people. A revolution that started with good intentions (Naxalbari) has turned into a violent war, where I don't see peasants benefitting. So lets hope this situation is resolved in a more peaceful manner, however unlikely.
-------------
Maybe it is the adrenaline rush. But when I run to catch a train, I love it, more so at Thane station. Usually when I see for afar CST train approaching, I start sprint towards platform no.4 or 6. The rush that one gets after catching the train is a welcome change from the boring routine of a working guy. It cannot replace the exciting adventure sports like sky-diving, but are a cheap and safe substitute. With rains making it difficult for me to ride my bike to office, I cannot get a high that comes with riding a bike, as I have to use public transport. The biggest reason for not riding my bike in rain is that, when it rains I can't keep the visor of helmet down, as visibility is low due to splashing rain drops. And if I keep the visor up, my spectacles will get splashed, so again reducing visibility. To add to my troubles the fear of skidding is always present. And there is the worse case scenario of flooding. If I am stuck somewhere, I can find my way out by walking/climbing etc., but if I am stuck with my bike it complicates things. So together with these all problems and the fear of bike suddenly refusing to start, I avoid riding to work in rainy season.

rain and some more
It rained scantily for a few hours yesterday, it was not substantial rainfall, but its a fine start.
I went out for a long walk and walking in the drizzle, was such a nice experience.
But today it is back to blue skies and warm sun. So question is, has monsoon really arrived or was that just a trailer of the monsoon movie?
----
Arsenal have signed Thomas Vermaelen, a defender that this team badly needed. No other defender should leave Arsenal, or else there won't be healthy competition in the team, and there would be dearth of backup in case of injuries. But I suspect William Gallas may leave.
-----
Just bought myself rainy season footwear. I prefer shoes to sandals/floaters. Because I hate getting dirt/mud on my feet, and heel of these are small so pants/jeans get soiled easily. But problem with leather shoes is that they are ruined in the rain. Shoes made of fabric may dry quicker but don't look good on trousers. And all season shoes don't let water but that makes it difficult to dry them if water comes in, which eventually leads to stinking shoes, which can be kept under control by putting fragrant talcum powder. Still that is not a good option. So I went in for a kind of hybrid.
It has got good features.
Its material is soft, not skin-cutting rubber that you can see in "BATA" rainy shoes.
It has got decent high heel(men point of view), so the ends of pants/jeans don't get soiled easily.
It doesn't slip easily on ..... well.... slippery surfaces..... Now the front is not entirely covered, but is better than fully open toed ones. Still little bid muck is sure to splash on my toes so I am anyway going to wear socks. (not sure about that as they may stink!!!)
So it seems to have best of both worlds.
Lets see if I love it or not. And it would be answered in a few months.
Other than footwear especially for rains, I use a rain jacket and a umbrella for very heavy rains. And yes a Rs.50 waterproof (non-fabric) cap.
-----------
Well that takes care of rain-wear but where are the rains!!!!
Bring It On!!!!!

Scorpions
Finally I laid my hands on a Scorpions album I have been looking for since a long time. Album name is "Fly to the Rainbow" released in 1974. I have a very old cassette, but now I have it in digital form. It's one of those albums which I never get bored of listening to. Now I am trying to find, "Lonesome Crow", which was Scorpions first album.
I watched two movies today. Both all out action movies, fun to watch, total entertainment. "Shoot Em Up" and "Rogue Assassin". "Rogue Assassin" had "Jet-Li" so I could not miss it. These two movies made my day, as they were a welcome change, from the movie of the week,
"Road to El Dorado (RtED)". RtED is one of my favorite movies. I have it in my cellphone, and so had watched it too many times this week. I am still thinking which movie should grace my cellphone screen next week.
"The Wound" has dried up; a layer of dry/rough skin chip has come up on it, for protection I believe. So now I can get back to my workout, though only a light workout would be a good idea right now. The adventure of "The Wound" continues.

food and stuff
I don't what it is. But I just love the masala flavoured banana chips.
I know its the taste, but it is unique, not found in any other packet.
Mind you! it is not a global brand either. They taste is just yummmm.
And talking of yummm. Lunch at Ozone restraunt in Hotel Heavens was just the kind of food, that is worth the money.
From the starters to dessert, everything was just perfect. Except ignoring the Malwani Fish Curry, which was not even an inch the way we (malwani) make it. Still the food was filling and good and since lunch was sponsored by company food tasted even better.
And I finally tasted vanilla icecream+gulab jamun. It tastes very well. I loved it.
"The Wound" is healing better now, is it because of honey which is said to speed up the healing process.
I am still waiting for the rains to arrive and drench us in monsoon glory, something my wound would not like, as it prefers to run like a dry state. "The wound" does not ache much, and has nearly dried up. And that is the reason why the bandage keeps sliding down. So I have to make sure I don't bend my leg too much, or else it may slip and woud my get exposed. And walking with a limp is not a easy thing to do, as my poor left leg has to take all the weight.
So that is "The Wound" story. And the effect is that Road-Runner (my bike) is getting much deserved rest.
Today ! no power cut!! yeaahh!! hurray!!
Ok. more some other day!! adios!! amigoes!

Lots of....
It happened on IIT road. Only familiar with this stretch know it is treacherous. Skidded into gutter of mud, broke headlight glass, and a scrapped my knee. Helmet and jacket saved me from more damage. But knee protectors were in my bag, if I had not been lazy to wear them then pain would have been less. Headlight glass is fixed, so road-runner(my bike) is fine, just makes a rattling sound a bit at high speeds. Knee has grazed wound, not too deep, but still not superficial. To avoid septic condition, I went to a nursing home and got the wound cleaned for fifty bucks. Now I walk around with bandaged knee, and since it isn't raining I still ride to office.
But sunday and sautrday were fun!
Saturday in short->
Visited the famous Mahalakshmi Temple (Mumbai),
then visited Nehru Science Centre.... that was the best part.... roamed till our legs could take it....saw a lot of things...learnt a lot....skipped two floors....will do next time...
Went to heera panna shopping centre for Nintendo DS Hack.
It was a great mumbai trip, riding in taxi. (p.s. I live in suburbs)
Sunday was even more.....
Went to Gateway of India... got overwhelmed by crowd.
Went to Cafe Leopold, since I don't drink alcohol and now have sore throat. I just drank water.
It was great experience, and my first one. more....some time later...
We also ............sorry have to cut short...I am late for work.....damn,..... damn... sorry to be continued.....
ok...yes..also went to "Not just jazz by the bay" and Prince of wales museum (now called shivaji museum) ...also to girgaum chowpatty.... ok enough ...more details next time.adios

Early Morning ramblings
Last two weeks were great that four birthdays were celebrated in our office which is a fun way to break monotony and eat yummy chocolate cakes.
And it finally rained. No, the monsoons haven't reached Mumbai early. They were just pre-monsoon showers. Last year it was weekend when that happened, but this time, I was riding back from office on my bike wearing leather jacket. I had to stop and remove the jacket, put other non-Wet-able items like cellphone in my bag, and then move on cautiously. Its very risky to ride a bike in first rains, as the chances of skidding are quite high (That is why I wear knee Armour). Now the wait is for the monsoons to begin in full flow.
Well, I would like to type more, but that would mean being late for work.
No! I can't be late today, lots of work to do.
Adios! Keep reading..... and I will keep posting
p.s. didn't proofread it so bear the grammatical mistakes

quickie
No, I was not feeling pain of break-up. It was the pain of watching Arsenal loose to a good Manchester United team.
Still I think this team has done quite well, considering the players in this team, their performances have been good not great.

So........
So many days have gone by and not many things have happened.
I have been sporting a clean shaven face since last week. Now this may not be an important fact, but it is quite interesting as last time I had a clean shave was way back in September. Not that I had not shaven since then, but never a clean shave. I only trimmed my beard, as I had been sporting a goatee/french beard variation. And by variation I mean ranging from modern french beard to the more retro handlebar beard (what a good friend calls biker look).
But I was tired of that look and wanted a change, and I have one, not really that cool, but a change it is. I have no idea how long I will be shaving everyday to maintain my look.
I tried the new fizz drink from ParleAgro, "Grappo Fizz". I liked it, it has nice taste, and nothing is overdone, be it the fizz or the grapes. Question remains if it can be gulped down in large quantities in one go, like many fizz drinks. And surely I am not going to find it out. Try it out! Its good.
Saw this movie, "30 days of night" a vampire movie, but not your typical one. Its very good, not perfect of course. But its better than many vampire movies I have seen. Still it can't compete with the Blade series, and anyway their basic permises are different. Now only "Underworld" is still unseen. hmmmm...
Need to stop now, have to go out and have some food. Adios! for now :)
p.s. I am contemplating another failed attempt to grow my hair(long) ...
