Sri Lanka is ahead of both the tourists India and West Indies on its home ground. It hasn't been a happy hunting ground for both them, with India having won only 9 out of 30 ODIs played and Windies managed to win 2 out of 7 played between them and the Lankans.
Some things about: Tri-Series Venues
Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium, Dambulla
The opening of Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on 23 March 2001 was an historic event in Sri Lankan cricket. The new Cricket Stadium was built in 155 days, on a World Heritage listed area in the middle of a jungle.
R. Premadasa Stadium, Khettarama, Colombo
Jul 29 2005
The Premadasa International Cricket Stadium (known prior to June 1994 as the Khetterama Cricket Stadium) was the brainchild of the late Sri Lanka President Ranasinghe Premadasa, who championed the development of this colossal 35,000-seater concrete bowl, the biggest stadium in Sri Lanka. Opened on February 2, 1986 with a limited overs match between a Sri Lanka 'B' side and an England 'B' team, the stadium was built on swampland previously used by monks ferrying across to the Khettarama temple adjacent to the stadium. The inaugural one-day international was played on April 5, 1986 between Sri Lanka and New Zealand. On August 28, 1992 it hosted its inaugural Test match between Sri Lanka and Australia. The venue is best remembered for holding the world record for the highest Test total - 952/6 declared by Sri Lanka against India in 1997/98 in which former Sri Lanka captain Sanath Jayasuriya scored 340 and Roshan Mahanama 225, the pair sharing the highest partnership for any wicket in Test cricket with 576 for the second wicket.
Some things about: Tri-Series who is in/who is out
Missing from the squad are Sachin Tendulkar, who is recuperating following an elbow operation, and Sourav Ganguly, who has been banned by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for six one-day internationals for India's slow over rate in the one-dayers against Pakistan in April.
Uttar Pradesh all-rounder Suresh Raina and Andhra's Venugopal Rao have been picked for national duty for the first time, following their good performances in the 2004-05 domestic season.
Another prominent addition is Coach Greg Chappell, a former Australia captain.
Speaking to the media before the boarding the flight, Chappell, for whom this will be the first test of strength, said "consistency is what will take the team to the next level".
"The situation gives us an opportunity to try a few other young players," said Dravid, who is leading the side for the first time for a full series.
He has already led in 12 one-day internationals and five Tests - all as a stopgap captain.
Tamil Nadu's medium pacer Lakshmipathy Balaji was characteristically upbeat about the team's prospects in the July 30-Aug 9 tournament. "Definitely, we will win the series," he said.
India plays their first match against Sri Lanka at Dambulla July 30.
Indian Squad: Rahul Dravid (captain), Virender Sehwag (vice-captain), V.V.S. Laxmani, Mohammed Kaif, Suresh Raina, Venugopal Rao, Yuvraj Singh, Anil Kumble, Harbhajan Singh, Mahendra Singh Dhoni (wicketkeeper), Zaheer Khan, Irfan Pathan, Lakshmipathy Balaji, Ashish Nehra and Jai Prakash Yadav.

Bheja(Brain) Fry Week
The week gone by is not very clear in my bheja(brain!). Why?
Because my mind was occupied by the module test(MT) at NIIT.
I scored 74% in the test(vb.net, xml, data commmunication and networking,OOAD).
Not a great score, but satisfying, considering that, I am juggling college with NIIT, and trying to be regular at both places, not forgetting, my voices(my college campus newspaper) and blog work.
This brings to my mind the thing, I had completely forgotten to mention. In the all India National IT Aptitude Test 2005, among 36955 I ranked 8401, putting me on their merit list, I was placed in top 24% of all participants.
How will it help? I don't care!!!!!
Well I remember the day, when I was told that I have the MT on 15th July, being a planner, I quickly planned out my study schedule.
This time I expected things to be tough for me.
The reason being, I had recieved the xml courseware a bit late, so I was on the backfoot from the start, and had to study topics like:data commmunication and networking,OOAD from a CD .
Then it struck me that 15th july was not only my dad's birthday, but also had pooja at my house.
Damn! upon that I had submit the ERD of my project. The details of that stressfull week have already drowned in this weeks events and happiness of making arsenal EPL champs(in the game Championship Manager 03-04)
So the day dawned(day??had test @7:30pm), when I reached NIIT, I found out, that the test had been postponed to next friday(22nd).
Well, it was a shock, but I was really happy and relieved, as it gave me some time to cover up the stuff I had missed out.
So I came home, all my dad's friends were leaving.
After going through the niceties, I settled on the sofa picked up the remote, started surfing through the channels and settled on Star One, they had The Great Indian Laughter challenge. Then my dad told me, that some reshma(fellow reporter of voices) and Mrs. Meenakshi Rajan(editor-in-chief of voices) had called up. After calling them, I was asked whether, tomorrow I would like to go as audience for the NDTV show 'The Big Fight'. I agreed, having nothing much to do. I was told to be in voices news room, at 10:00.
Then had a good quantity of biryani and slept.
The next day:
I put on a formal shirt and trouser(not done since long time), reached the destination on time, but it cost me 32 bucks. In the Voices news room, reshma, was shocked to see me come on time, later I found out that she had told me to come at 10, as she thought, I wasn't punctual, well !@#$%, thanks a lot. Then, the other two guys and two girls showed up after a hour or so, till then I was just sitting there, listening to reshma and her bullshit and trying not to fall asleep(I slept only for four hours). Then Mrs. Rajan showed up, when I found out the topic of debate at the show, I got to know what kind of crap I was getting into, but being a man of my words(there are always exceptions), I didn't say no.
I don't even remember the names of the five people I was supposed to go with(I am bad at remembering names), wait, one girl was richa while the other was mugdha.
The show was to be shot at some place in worli(for those who dont know, my college is in vidyavihar/ghatkopar).
We reached there in about 20-25 minutes(maybe), the ride wasn't much to write about.
Had trouble finding the studio building, but found it anways.
Anushka, the girl who was our contact over there, was waiting for us outside.
Well she was young, not a bombshell, but not that bad looking, she was in her capris and a short Tee(the ones that let you show off your waist). You must be thinking why didn't I make stupid comments about the two girls.
Well, they may not be in my class, but they are from my college, and I don't want to get into kind of mess, damn! what if they have some 'bouncer build' boy friends, then my blog would see details about my stay in ICU.
Acting like a busy person with her handsfree phone, anushka excorted us inside their studio, outside they had to camera vehicles, designed by DC(shame if you are car enthu. and don't know what DC means).
On the left they had a room with the sign ' On Air', I thought that is where we would go, but instead we were escorted to this room besides the make up room, it was cramped room, more like a store room, than anything else.
A few guys and girls had already assembled.
Now starts the part where after every minute or so, all I could think was about swear words.(which is not right, as I am bit humble while using swear words.)
There were 2 guys and 3 girls, they had reached early and in the spare time had listed out some points.
hey I forget to tell you what the stupid topic of the debate was, it was Which city is better Mumbai/Delhi, damn!!!what a question,,,
First of all, I live in the suburbs i.e.outside Mumbai city limits
secondly I hate both the cities.
but like I said, I had to be at this show, so I sat there, I even had a look at the points listed out,
There were 2 cams in front of me, spot lights beating on me from all directions, Anushka was busy taking instructions on her cell.
Soon enough anushka cleared up all my confusion,
this is how the show worked,
in the NDTV delhi studio, 5 experts sat and debated on the issue, then when it was time for delhi audience comments,
people like us, assembled in delhi, were questioned, and we were queried, when it was time to praise mumbai,
the problem was that, the experts and the comperer could see n hear us, but we could only hear some commotion going, as these experts were a bit too vocal in voicing there opinions.
Anushka said something like:"hey guys be lively"
I sat there cursing, chewing happydent and waiting for the show to get over, so I could throw the gum.
Well, only 4 of us could laud mumbai, and before I could think of anything to lie about mumbai, they finished the shoot. What a relief, we waited in their lobby, we didn't expect them to feed us something, but the bloody beggars didn't even ask for water, the journey back to college wasn't eventfull enough or maybe my memory is fooling me,
anyway I reached college had my tiffin(yesterday's left over biryani), went for the lecture, told aarti ma'am(our H.O.D.) about the show, she said it doesn't matter, her lecture was over,

Freedom POV -1 (Point Of View)
Freedom POV -1
Let us look at freedom from different point of views.
Why this freedom thing suddenly?
Well!!!
We are nearing I-day (for dummies 'I' stand independence).
So let us have our point of view: Youths
And the first thing that comes to mind is censorship.
Why censorship?
Well, tell me what have the events, since last august shown us.
They have shown us that how people in power, or those who have access to power, have put varied restrictions on us, and be they directly or indirectly.
How? What? When?
Maybe some of you may have not noticed or maybe some have accepted it is fine for our freedom's to be trampled upon, as we are just a bunch of kids just out of our teens, what do you say?
If I go about listing things, things which these people consider, will supposedly stagnate our mind, then I will run short of paper.
I just don't understand their logic.
If I want to do something, which is legal and totally harmless, then it’s my bloody business, who are these so called custodians of our culture to decide what I should do/not do.
If you have a problem, just close your eyes.
The more you try to ban such things, youth's as rebel in nature, are attracted to it.
Instead if these things are just ignored, they don't seem to bother anyone, they loose their value, and it’s like what the heck!
If these things are banned they are considered sinful/sacred, and it’s like I wonder what it is....
, you know, there will be curiosity.
But the question is not that these culture vultures have been able to regulate everything except the air we breathe, the question is,
How have we let these things happen?
Why haven't seen nation-wide protests, why haven't we shown that we cannot be trampled upon, why haven't we shown the power of youth. When we come together, what harm, can those in power do to us?
Do I have to tell you how many youth's are there in this city alone?
But what are we doing?
We are accepting,
We are accepting censorship and saying 'chalta hai yaar, hum kar bhi kya sakte hai'
If this attitude continues, then forget about this write up, no one, not even Hitler, can provoke youth's to wake up, and stop their freedom being taken away.
And if anyone thinks that I am just exaggerating things to fill up space here,
Then just wait, sit quiet, give it shot, don't say a word against anything that is wrong.
And in no time, all our freedoms will go away.
Leaving us only the freedom to breathe, maybe!
Let us look at freedom from different point of views.
