One day to go before my first job!!!!!!

One day to go before my first job!!!!!! (is it, too much hype?)

It’s Sunday, and from Monday I will start working.

I am excited.

Anyway, Saturday was spent watching TV, surfing internet, cycling, reading dot net framework notes and playing midnight club 2.

I ate bhel-puri today.

That brings me to the topic of my favourite snacks.

Ragda-Pattice is favourite,

Followed by Bhel-Puri

Then Pani-Puri
Lastly Sev-Puri

These snacks are something I am crazy about.

Other snacks like samosas, vada pav, and batata bhaji are always there.

Mumbai may soon get its own metro rail, it would be cool, but how much its going to be helpful is altogether a different issue.

In thane, minimum rickshaw fares will soon fall from 11 to 9, that is music to my ears.

Germany took one step closer to their dream of lifting a fourth World Cup crown after the hosts defeated ten-man Sweden 2-0 here on Saturday to book their place in the quarter-final.

I have been trying to get in touch with old buddies through orkut.

I found the BEST website very useful in finding out bus details/route details, do check it out sometime.

Here is the url> http://www.bestundertaking.com/transport/index.htm

Fresh chapter

Lets us begin this fresh chapter with some good news.

I graduated in computer science on 31st May 2006, and since then I have spent days, experiencing how it feels to be unemployed.

Thinking I had enough of this, lady luck has decided to put me on the next level.

And voila! I am employed.

I will join Megasys India Private Ltd., and offshore unit of NetXert Inc., USA (!!!), as an IT consultant.

Isn’t it cool!!!!!!!!!

I am guilty!

I am guilty!

I have been a cold, heartless person.

I carelessly left my weblog all alone in this deep dark world of internet.

So to gain back all the lost faith, it’s pertinent that I make some commitment and hold on to it.

For the same purpose I have decided that, from today i.e. 23rd June 2006, I will update my weblog everyday.

It doesn’t look like a great trust building exercises, but I would prefer my actions to speak larger than words.

The attack of the pigeons? Not Really!!

I love wildlife. I love birds.
But in spite of that, I hate pigeons.
Let us look at how it all began.
Pigeons and I never crossed each other path (not just because they could fly and I couldn’t).
I never liked pigeons; they make some of the most irritating sounds. They seem so heavy when they fly, and all they want to do is mating.
They are fearless and stubborn too.
Trying to shoo them away is a huge effort, with passing time they are no more afraid of you.
The fact that they leave stink and shit in all the wrong places doesn’t make things better.
And now they decided to plough into my territory.
Basically they decided to build a nest below our kitchen window.
Refer to figure to understand.

Bird flu, stinky shitty mess, irritating sounds all added to my resolution to remove that nest from that place.
But I couldn’t do it. I couldn’t sum the courage to sweep the nest away because the nest had an egg.
Eventually I did sweep out the nest, but till then the pigeons seem to have made that place their home, and these pigeons invited more pigeons.
Now things are under control, I managed to shoo them all away successfully after a lot of effort, still they visit once or twice.

Disclaimer: No birds were harmed,
they were just shoo’ed away. He He He He!!!!!

5th and 6th April.

It is so amazing, sometimes its paucity of time that prevents you from doing some interesting things, and when we have got all the time in the world, we end up doing nothing.

And that is what has happened to me in these two days, just managed to do nothing constructive. Unless, playing PC games, watching TV, riding my bicycle, surfing internet, sleeping, count as constructive work.

I did try to complete journal work, but couldn’t complete it.

Just yesterday I heard this show on FM, they were asking people to call in and talk about movies whose ending they would like to change.

Many people were saying that Leonardo DiCaprio shouldn’t have died in the end.

Then a whacked idea crashed into the doors of my mind.

I thought we could give it an interesting twist which could be handled by James Cameroon, the way he handled T2.

What could be done is when Leo drowns; his mutant like abilities of being able to survive underwater get expressed and so he becomes a mutant and then saves everyone. He not only survives underwater but also controls water, so we can call him The Aquaboy!!!!

Then we can have a sequel > The Famous Adventures of Aquaboy.

I am back

Well not completely, as I will go into hibernation again since my exams are not over yet.

In past few days, I managed to do some things worth mentioning here.

I got myself a haircut, clean shave, face & head massage (Cost Rs.85).

I successfully recalled all the theory answers of SS/DCN/OS/Unix that I had fed in my brain a day before the exam.

I have got GPRS of my cell phone enabled, thanks to MTNL’s scheme of zero rentals for GPRS.

Two more kid fishes were born but they were dead in spite of being separated out from other large fishes, which would have at them anyway.

My exam center > Menon College is pathetic. Bad benches, wrongly placed ceiling fans, proximity to railway tracks, and sharing the bench with 11th standard kids makes writing exams a physical torture, as questions papers anyway put me through mental torture.

India drew the test series against England but managed to win the first ODI against them.

Even arsenal beat Juventus comprehensively with a score of 2-0, thanks to strikes from Fabregas and Henry.

My mom got a new Discman with small speakers (to be put in kitchen) to entertain herself with some Hindi classics while cooking food.

The two indoor plants that dad had brought are alive and looking healthy.

Our exam papers consist of two types of question sets, one based on revised course (for us) and the other based on old course. And each of these sets have two sections, one for OS concepts and other for Unix concepts, now the reason for saying all this is that, I wrote the wrong set(old course) of questions for the Unix section. Now I am hoping against hope that god and university consider my efforts and donate me some marks for it.

I feel bad because I couldn’t help my friend deal with his depression. It all began with a bad paper of SS/DCN that left a very bad aftertaste in his mind. I thought he would recover but his absence from the next exam paper was proof that my judgment was wrong. A potential good programming talent will have to waste lot of valuable learning the things which he already knows.

While another guy from my group is still cribbing that his first two papers have gone really bad, we are not sure whether he is saying the truth or not.

It’s funny. Life, which at one moment looked very drab or boring, suddenly involves you in events which sometimes stir you, or leave you shaken.

A palm tree may sway wildly in storms. But after the storms run out of power, you see the palm tree still rooted in its place, waiting for the next storm.

I declare the same, bring it on, I am ready for anything,

Eveready.

P.S. If next post doesn't come soon, it will surely be here on 4th April.

My weblog has crossed the 1000 visitor mark!!!!!

Thank You, all of you, for wasting your valuable time reading my weblog.

---it’s around 12AM, my family is asleep while my pet fishes are still actively paddling around, inspiring me to go on.

---its nearing 1 AM and I am unable to keep myself awake, time to go to sleep now, got to wake up and finish off Data Communication and Networking(DCN) studies.

---its nearing 10 AM I woke up about an hour ago or so, and completed my morning ritual of bath, breakfast, etc

---I will begin DCN studies, once I get through with checking mails, etc.

---Its almost 4 PM, after having lunch, studying DCN, tried to watch TV, but couldn’t find anything worth watching.

---Got to know that my exam center will be Menon College, Bhandup

---Listened to Santana’s latest album and the song Hotel California. It is a relaxing experience to hear a strumming guitar.

---I haven’t shaved since many days and I am starting to resemble Himesh Reshmiya (the werewolf style singer). Even my hair has grown and is no more my usual short style.

---The number of occupants have increased in our housing complex have increased and the builder hasn’t yet increased the number of water lines, so we are facing a minor shortage of water. The builder has promised to solve the problem in a few days. Let’s hope so.

---Its more of a miracle than anything else, as the MSEB guys have made the load-shedding in out locality almost non-existent. And things are so good around here that we have had a day when there was absolutely no power cut, not even for a minute. Though it is rumored that MSEB (now called MSEDC), will get back to its bad old ways, as they are waiting till the completion of the important SSC exams. I don’t like it, but anyway, it's like, have fun as long as it lasts.

---The food I had today, other than the usual was, Potato Wafers, Pastry, Mirinda, and Cheese, Fried Potato/Brinjal; I have a high metabolism rate so don’t have to worry about gaining weight, and all I need to do is, do some cycling to loose any extra flab gain along my waist.

---Its around 10PM, my family is watching Sangam (yaar, the old movie), not a bad movie, at least better than the junk we are forced to watch nowadays.

---Rode my bicycle after a long time, a refreshing change, dying to go for it again.

Time to go, have to take care of unfinished businesses. See you tomorrow guys!!!!!!

I wil try but can't assure you.

Yes. I really I can't assure that I will post regularly, at least for a few days, as I have got my final exams coming up. They begin from 22nd of this month and stretch till 10th April. These exams are do-or-die situation for me. They decide whether I graduate successfully or not.
From the day of my last post, things around me have been like a see-saw.

There were days when I managed to put up some disciplined effort towards my studies, and there were days when concentrating on my studies was impossible.

In all these days(till15th mrach to be accurate) ,

>We got out final exam hall ticket (this is a kind of Id-card).

>Instead of having my usual Zebra Tort Pastry, I ate the creamy Black Forest pastry (YUMMY!!).

>Holi festival went by, as it had for the last 5 years, not very eventful.

>Sports: Indian cricket team is performing well, and while arsenal are through to the quarter final after beating real Madrid (feels good), bayern munchen had no such luck (sad!).
My F1 favorite Kimi Raikkonen(forgive the spelling mistake if any) came third after starting from the back of the grid(hurray).

>Tried the cool Yahoo Widgets software.

>Have been tying to open a password locked MS Word file using a software but without any success.

>Visited Thane East (I spent my childhood here) with a feeling of nostalgia.

>Had a slight drizzle for a few days ago, making the climate cool/overcast/breezy (awesome!!!)

>My sleeping & exercising patterns have become terribly inconsistent; will need to take care of them.

>My cousin sister and her family visited us last Sunday, they and my folks had planned to meet my cousin’s fiancĂ© at our place(Why??). And since this match fixing was of the arranged marriage variety, it again ticked off the confusion in my head about arranged and love marriage. I know the merits/demerits of both, and if both the systems are brought together, it would be an efficient system. But the problem is, this mixed system will not be easily accepted by my family/relatives, since for them it is not the traditional way.
Now for a 20 year old on the verge of his graduation, marriage must be the last thing to think about. I agree, but situations create such thoughts and make me think about life 5-6 years down the line. Anyway this issue about marriages, will halt, for now at least. Since anyway it can be taken care of later, like I cleared out the confusion between friendship and love.

That is all I can manage to think.

Will try and post regularly from tomorrow, so that I am not left with backlog, like today.
